Preliminary System Design of a future GALILEO Receiver
Brief Description
On June 27, 2001 yet another phase of the GALILEO program, named GALILEO B2, was kicked-off at ESTEC. Based on the outcome of the GALILEO Definition Phase, the main scope of GALILEO Phase B2 is two-fold: Firstly, to support the consolidation of GALILEO Mission requirements and related System Requirements, and conclude a number of high-level System architecture trade-offs, secondly, to finalise the preliminary System design (Phase B) activities, including all related documentation required prior to start the subsequent Programme phases.
The GALILEO Phase B2 study encompasses all segments and components of the GALILEO System, namely Space, Ground and User segments, Global, Regional and Local components. The part of Teleconsult within this project was the contribution to the preliminary system design of the GALILEO user segment. Special emphasis have been placed on the design of a receiver for professional applications, investigations of mitigation techniques, and a standards review.
